<strong>Job Requirements </strong><br><p><strong>POSITION SUMMARY </strong></p><p>The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct and in-direct patient care by adhering to the nursing process in a collaborative environment, promoting optimal patient outcomes through evidence-based practice, care coordination, and patient and family engagement. </p><p> </p><p><strong>PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES </strong></p><ol><li>Provides safe and effective nursing care based on assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient needs across the care continuum. </li><li>Administers medications, perform treatments, and document care activities in accordance with Health First’s policies and procedures. </li><li>Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care, participate in rounds, and support discharge planning. </li><li>Applies critical thinking to promptly identify changes in patient condition and initiate the appropriate interventions. </li><li>Educates patients and families using teach-back to promote engagement in care and safe transitions. </li><li>Adheres to safety protocols and infection prevention practices to protect patients and Associates. </li><li>Utilizes Health First technology systems to enter clinical documentation and care plans. </li><li>Participates in quality improvement, patient safety, and High Reliability Organization (HRO) initiatives. </li><li>Supports precepting, mentoring, and onboarding of new Associates and students as appropriate. </li><li>Promotes a culture of purpose, rounding, and communication at the bedside (e.g., whiteboard use, bedside shift report). </li></ol><br><br><strong>Work Experience </strong><br><p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS </strong></p><ul><li>Education: Associate’s degree in Nursing (ASN) or Nursing Diploma. </li><li>Work Experience: Meets unit specific care requirements; new graduates taken under consideration based on the needs of the unit. </li><li>Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Florida or endorsement. </li><li>Certification: </li></ul><ol><li class="ql-indent-1">American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintained. </li><li class="ql-indent-1">Additional certifications to meet unit specific care requirements (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP, NIHSS). </li></ol><ul><li>Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: </li></ul><ol><li class="ql-indent-1">Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills. </li><li class="ql-indent-1">Proficiency in EMR systems and patient documentation. </li><li class="ql-indent-1">Demonstrated initiative in quality and patient safety improvements. </li><li class="ql-indent-1">Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in complex environments. </li><li class="ql-indent-1">Must maintains compliance with competency validations and continuing education. </li><li class="ql-indent-1">Demonstrate flexibility, reliability, and a commitment to a collaborative work environment. </li></ol><p> <strong>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS </strong></p><ul><li>Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN). </li><li>Work Experience: One (1) year or more of acute care or specialty setting. </li><li>Certification: National certification in specialty area (e.g., CCRN, CMSRN, CEN). </li></ul><p> <strong>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS </strong></p><ul><li>Physically agile; requires walking, standing, running, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, or crouching majority of the shift. </li><li>Heavy work that frequently includes lifting or moving objects up to 100 pounds or more with or without assistance. </li><li>May require moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces, including reaching out and above shoulders or overhead. </li><li>May lift, turn, pull, push, or ambulate people and/or equipment with or without assistance up to 90% of the assigned shift. </li><li>May be exposed to inside environments and outside environments with extreme temperatures, air contamination, dirt, grease, or water. </li><li>May require working with biohazards such as blood/body fluids and airborne particles following OSHA and CDC guidelines. </li><li>May operate various types of manual and motorized equipment used in the transportation of materials. </li><li>May be exposed to intense noise or vibration and awkward or confined work position. </li><li>Communicating with others to exchange information. </li><li>Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks. </li><li>Workspace may vary from open to confined. </li><li>May require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of personal vehicle. </li></ul><br><br><strong>Benefits </strong><br><p><strong>ABOUT HEALTH FIRST</strong></p><p>At Health First, diversity and inclusion are essential for our continued growth and evolution.
