A surgical care role is available in a well-equipped unit specializing in post-surgical and general surgery patient populations. This contract position is based in Girdwood, AK, with opportunities to work within a dedicated team utilizing advanced clinical technology and documentation systems.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Registered Nurse with Med/Surg experience
  • Proficient in nursing procedures including NG tube and central line care
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Familiarity with clinical documentation systems, such as Epic, preferred
  • Ability to work within a surgical care unit setting with a patient-to-nurse ratio of approximately 6:1
  • Flexibility to float to like med/surg units when required

Schedule/Hours:

  • Commitment to 4 weekend shifts per schedule cycle
  • Navy scrubs required as part of the dress code

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to post-surgical and general surgery patients
  • Assist with procedures and manage complex patient equipment
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation consistent with hospital policies
  • Adapt to the surgical care units protocols and floating assignments as necessary
