<p><strong> PLC & PROCESS TECHNICIAN</strong></p><p><strong> AUTOMATION</strong><strong> & ROBOTICS MANAGER</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE: </strong></p><p>Design and development of PLC and HMI programs and the start up, commission and improvement of production equipment </p><p><br></p><p><strong>SCOPE:</strong></p><p>· Works independently and interdependently within various interdepartmental teams</p><p><br></p><p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES/EFFORTS</strong></p><p>· Supports continuous improvement projects by analyzing root causes and implement solutions to improve efficiency, safety, quality, and reliability.</p><p>· Complete improvements for error proofing and design function for all new and existing equipment as required</p><p><span>· Programming, commissioning, and testing of Rockwell, Siemens, and Omron PLC and HMI programs, which may include associated manufacturing equipment such as motion control, vision, RFID, scanners/readers, measurement, and instrumentation equipment.</span></p><p>· Responsible for maintaining, developing, and following company’s control standards, templates, and programming libraries.</p><p>· Troubleshooting/diagnosing of Process issues and perform root cause analysis</p><p>· Perform daily checks as required on all equipment as instructed</p><p>· Assist operators in the day-to-day functions of the machines</p><p>· Ensuring Operator settings are correct and working when a machine stops or fails</p><p>· Work closely with the shift Supervisor to improve process efficiency, quality, and reliability.</p><p>· Performs all duties as assigned in accordance with and adherence to the IATF/TS 16949 Quality System Standard</p><p>· Follows Policies, Procedures and Work Instructions as outlined in the Quality Systems Manual and Employee Handbook</p><p>· Performs all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all health, safety, 5S and housekeeping guidelines and rules; </p><p>· Reports all unsafe & unhealthy conditions to Management or a member of the Joint Health & Safety Committee</p><p>· Performs other tasks as required</p><p><strong>4. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE/ PREREQUISITES</strong></p><p>· Post-secondary education in related field (Mechanical Engineering, skilled trade, etc.)</p><p>· Minimum of 5 years of experience in working as a PLC Programmer/Process Technician role in a similar Assembly/Robotic/Welding environment </p><p>· Proficient knowledge of PLC programming (i.e. ABB)</p><p><strong>5. PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE</strong></p><p>· <span>Understanding of machinery safety, programming of safety devices with safety PLC</span></p><p>· Mechanical and Electrical knowledge to understand process operations</p><p>· Strong ability to work with hand tools to adjust dies and sensors </p><p>· Excellent grasp on how HMI and buttons and sensor can affect the cell</p><p>· Knowledge of machine guarding and safety devices</p><p>· Basic knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic circuits and devices an asset</p><p>· Experience with stamping presses an asset </p><p>· Familiarity with preventative and predictive maintenance techniques </p>
