Job Summary
Progressive Technology is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller with expertise in CMS-1500 and UB-04 claims to join our dynamic team. As part of our growing company, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely billing of medical claims within the U.S. Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) system. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of healthcare billing practices, a strong eye for detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
Accurately process and submit CMS-1500 and UB-04 medical claims for reimbursement from insurance companies and government programs.
Ensure all claims are compliant with current healthcare regulations and insurance requirements.
Review patient records and billing data to ensure completeness, accuracy, and proper coding.
Follow up on outstanding claims, resolve discrepancies, and work with insurance companies to address denials or underpayments.
Work closely with healthcare providers and other departments to ensure smooth claim submissions and efficient resolution of billing issues.
Maintain and update patient billing information in the system to ensure accuracy.
Stay up-to-date with changes in healthcare regulations, billing codes, and payer requirements to ensure compliance.
Prepare and present reports on claim status, trends, and other key performance indicators as requested.
Required Skills and Qualifications
In-depth knowledge of medical billing practices, specifically with CMS-1500 and UB-04 forms.
Strong understanding of the U.S. Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) processes.
Excellent knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and other relevant medical coding systems.
Proficient in using billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to review complex data accurately.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to work with internal teams and external insurance providers.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and the importance of patient confidentiality.
Experience
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical billing and coding, specifically with CMS-1500 and UB-04 claims.
Experience in U.S. RCM is required, with a proven track record of processing and following up on medical claims.
Prior experience in working with insurance companies and resolving claim issues is preferred.
Working Hours
Full-time, remote position.
Standard working hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM EST, with flexibility required based on project deadlines or urgent claims resolution.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in medical billing software, EHR, and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
Analytical Skills: Strong ability to assess claim statuses, identify issues, and resolve discrepancies efficiently.

Communication Skills: Ability to interact professionally and empathetically with patients, providers, and insurance representatives.
Time Management: Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a remote setting.
Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of healthcare compliance regulations, including HIPAA and payer-specific rules.
