Overview

Gallagher Insurance Brokers is seeking a dynamic and experienced sales professional to join our International Insurance Brokerage & Reinsurance (IIBRe) division as the Business Development Specialist. This role is based in Jamaica and offers an exciting opportunity to work in the wholesale and reinsurance brokerage industry. The Business Development Specialist will play a pivotal role in driving business growth, building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and insurers, and managing new programs. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the insurance industry, with at least 5 years of experience, preferably in the international market.


How you'll make an impact

Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the company’s portfolio.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve growth targets.
  • Build and nurture relationships with insurers, reinsurers, brokers, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities.

Client Servicing

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for existing clients, ensuring exceptional service.
  • Address client inquiries, resolve issues, and provide tailored solutions.
  • Conduct regular reviews with clients to assess their insurance needs.

Program Development and Management

  • Design and implement innovative insurance and reinsurance programs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners for seamless execution.
  • Monitor program performance and optimize results.

Relationship Building

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, insurers, and reinsurers.
  • Represent the company at industry events and networking opportunities.

Compliance and Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Prepare regular reports on business development activities and program performance.

 


About you

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Experience with underwriting/reinsurance principles and the insurance broking process.
  • Knowledge of the international insurance marketplace.
  • Strong marketing, sales, and customer service skills.
  • Effective communication and computer literacy.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Insurance Diploma/Certificate (e.g., ACII, CIP, BDI).
  • Training in effective communication and customer service.
  • At least 5 years of insurance and customer service experience.
