MoneyFinder's negotiation team calls service providers — cable, internet, phone, and soon to be more — directly on behalf of members to secure lower rates and real savings. This is mission-driven, impact-forward work: every successful negotiation puts money back in our customer's pocket.</p><p>MoneyFinder is growing its negotiation team and looking for a Bill Negotiation Specialist to join on a contractor basis (20+ hours/week). In this fully-remote role, you'll conduct phone-based negotiations with cable, internet, and phone providers on behalf of customers, using AI-supported tools to maximize savings. There is a growth path to a team lead role managing other negotiators.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Role Responsibilities</strong></p><p><strong>Primary Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Conduct phone negotiations with service providers (cable, internet, phone) to secure discounts and better rates for customers</li><li>Navigate provider verification processes and facilitate three-way calls for account access</li><li>Apply multiple negotiation strategies: competitor pricing, loyalty discounts, retention offers, and escalation tactics</li><li>Manage 3-5 active negotiation cases daily while maintaining quality and accuracy</li><li>Communicate professionally with customers and providers throughout the negotiation process</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Secondary Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Record calls and maintain detailed case notes in the CRM</li><li>Contribute to the team's knowledge base with successful tactics and provider-specific insights</li><li>Identify process inefficiencies and suggest operational improvements</li><li>Participate in daily standups and training sessions</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Scope & Complexity</strong></p><p>MoneyFinder's Bill Negotiation Specialists are central to the company's core service delivery. This role requires independent judgment, persistence through high rejection rates, and the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-changing startup environment. </p><p>The scope of work includes:</p><ul><li>Managing multiple customer cases simultaneously with attention to detail and documentation standards</li><li>Conducting extended phone calls (some lasting 90+ minutes) with professionalism and composure</li><li>Operating with minimal process structure and adapting to evolving workflows</li><li>Using AI tools, CRM systems, and call recording platforms competently</li><li>Contributing to team performance through knowledge sharing and process documentation</li><li>Demonstrating empathy and a genuine commitment to helping customers reduce financial burden</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><p><strong>Minimum & Required</strong></p><ul><li>2+ years in customer-facing roles with negotiation components (sales, retention, or customer service)</li><li>Confident, professional phone presence; comfortable with extended calls and high rejection rates</li><li>Demonstrates a growth mindset; eager to learn and adapt in a fast-changing environment.</li><li>Strong written communication skills for case notes and process documentation</li><li>Proficiency with CRM systems, AI tools, and call recording platforms</li><li>Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously</li><li>Eligible and willing to work as a 1099 contractor in the United States</li><li>Availability to commit 20+ hours per week during US business hours</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Preferred</strong></p><ul><li>Experience in retention or billing departments (cable, internet, telecom)</li><li>Background in sales, account management, or persuasion-based roles</li><li>Familiarity with consumer finances, billing cycles, and provider practices</li><li>Previous experience in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment</li><li>Experience identifying inefficiencies and contributing to process improvements</li><li>Hears “no” as “maybe,” and a cue to negotiate harder</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Physical Requirements & Work Environment</strong></p><p>This role requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a computer, with frequent typing, phone use, and viewing of a screen for long durations. All positions are fully remote; contractors work from their own chosen workspace anywhere within the United States.
